Issue with Nextcloud Integration with Collabora Online

Hi everyone,

I am currently facing an issue while trying to integrate Nextcloud with Collabora Online. I’ve followed the documentation, but I’m encountering an error that I can’t seem to resolve. :upside_down_face:

Details as below-

Nextcloud Version: 25.0.0

Collabora Online Version: 6.4

Operating System: Ubuntu 20.04

I have installed Nextcloud and Collabora Online using the provided instructions.

Configured Collabora Online in the Nextcloud admin settings. Attempted to open a document within Nextcloud using Collabora Online.

Error shows Failed to load Collabora Online - please try again later.

I have checked the server logs for both Nextcloud and Collabora Online. Verified that both services are running and accessible. Reconfigured the Collabora Online settings in Nextcloud. Ensured that the firewall rules are not blocking any necessary ports.

Has anyone else encountered this issue with Nextcloud and Collabora Online? I have checked Collabora integration guide - Wiki - Nextcloud community splunk documentation guide but still need help.

Are there any known compatibility issues between these versions?

Any help or pointers would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Bob. Well, this forum was meant to be the place for discussing issues with sustainability of Open Source - maintainers who get a lot of social pressure often don’t have money or life to go on, projects die and new generation get depressed.

As for your specific problem, I would try the luck asking in Collabora Online tracker GitHub - CollaboraOnline/online: Collabora Online is a collaborative online office suite based on LibreOffice technology. This is also the source for the Collabora Office apps for iOS and Android. but it seems that the problem is not there. So then I would pull this string.

Error shows Failed to load Collabora Online - please try again later.

And raise the issue on the Nextcloud side to make this error message actionable. At least specify in the message why Nextcloud thinks Collabora Online loading failed, and what does it mean at all to load 3rd party online service? If the service is not responding, then what is the URL it was trying to access, what was the response, and maybe the request payload?

If you’ve checked all marks in Collabora integration guide - Wiki - Nextcloud community troubleshooting guide and no error happened, then I would also add checks that cover the error in your situation.
