One of the things we’ve suggested doing in the UX WG was a reading group.
I suggested we read https://www.tragicdesign.com. I have a copy. Would anyone else be interested in reading it, together, and then commenting on it? I’m not sure of the best way to do that.
I won’t be able to meet up until June, but perhaps that would give us time to order it and read some of it before staging the first discussion.
I love the idea. We should highlight this in the Slack and in today’s meeting. I wonder if anyone in the Open Source Design community would be interested in participating in this reading group just because of the overlap of interests too.
Great! I’ve made a calendar invite that if you want me to send out I can but also I suggest we use https://meet.jit.si/opensourcedesign and hang out there on June 8th at 15.00 UK BST time // 10.00 East Coast USA EDT // 07.00 West Coast USA PST!
So we had our first meeting of the UX book club today (yay!) and we’ll continue with monthly drop-in sessions at the same time: The second Tuesday of the month at 15.00 BST.
Just to note we were all at different places in the book, we were between 0-6 chapters so we had a nice casual chat about our thoughts about what we’ve currently read with kindness and understanding
The further books that were suggested could be part of the club are:
I can’t seem to find the published event that is linked; is it public? Could you invite richard at burntfen.com so that I can add it to the Sustain calendar? Thank you.
